Q: What is the dataGO Data Roaming Hotspot?
dataGO Roaming Hotspot is a comprehensive mobile roaming solution making it easy and affordable to use mobile data services while abroad. DataGO offers international travelers instant Internet access and unlimited mobile data services anytime, anywhere and from any mobile device for a flat daily rate. A portable, pocket-sized hotspot ensures "always on" high-speed Internet access for multiple mobile devices.
Q: How much does the dataGO Roaming Hotspot service cost?
There is a one off per Device cost then a daily rate is charged for unlimited* data usage within a 24 hour period. You are only charged for the days that you use. Volume based discounted rates are calculated on total number of days used across all devices on any one account within a 1 month period.
There is a monthly service charge of $5 per device and there is a minimum 6 month commitment required. You can deactivate the dataGO Roaming Hotspot service after 6 months.

Q: What is the dataGO Roaming Hotspot Spot?
DataGO Hotspot is a personal mobile router that connects simultaneously to up to 8 Wi-Fi enabled devices, such as laptops, tablets and smartphones. This compact, battery-powered device easily fits into your pocket and lets you stay connected wherever you go. dataGO Roaming Hotspot comes with a data SIM card that connects to the local mobile operator, enabling cellular internet access at download speeds of up to 21Mbps.
Q: Do I need to bring my own SIM card to make it work?
No. dataGO Roaming Hotspot comes with the data SIM card to enable seamless connectivity in the relevant countries.
Q: Do I need to install any software on my laptop or smartphone?
No – just turn on the device and you're ready to go. The dataGO Roaming Hotspot device connects directly to the cellular network and creates a personal Wi-Fi network around itself. You can then connect any mobile device by using the Wi-Fi network name and password of your dataGO Roaming Hotspot.
Q: How far in advance of my trip should I order?
Delivery time depends on the payment option you choose. As part of the order process, if you choose a monthly account (minimum of 10 devices required) as opposed to credit card payment there will be credit checks required which can delay account and approval and therefore delivery time. Delivery Time will be 2 business days from final approval of application and will be delivered via courier to your Australian address (no PO boxes allowed). International shipping charges and conditions apply for any delivery outside Australia – please contact us for details.
Q: Can others connect to my dataGO Roaming Hotspot?
Your dataGO Roaming Hotspot has a unique Wi-Fi network name and password, so you can decide who can and cannot access your private internet connection.
Q: Where can I use the dataGO Roaming Hotspot service?
You can use the dataGO Roaming Hotspot service in over 100 countries worldwide. Please see the dataGO website for the full country list.
Q: Will my device connect to a network straight away?
IMPORTANT: when connecting to a network in a new country for the first time, you may need to wait for 1-2 minutes for the device to find a network. During this time you may see limited service on the screen of your device, but this will strengthen to full service. Please remember if network coverage is weak in a particular area then the signal strength on your device may reflect this accordingly.
Q: How long does the dataGO Roaming Hotspot battery last?
The dataGO Roaming Hotspot battery provides power for up to 5 hours of continuous operation or 100 hours in standby mode. You can recharge the battery by connecting dataGO Roaming Hotspot to your laptop using the provided Micro USB cable, or plugging it into any AC socket using the provided AC adapter. You can also purchase a spare battery from us if you require.
Q: What does a per day or daily rate charge mean?
dataGO Roaming Hotspot charges on a per day per country basis. A usage day lasts from midnight to midnight local time (00:00 – 23:59). You will be charged only for the days that your device is used. Usage begins when the first data is transmitted (when you connect your first device). If you use the device in two countries in one day, then you will be charged twice.
Q: Can I test the dataGO Roaming Hotspot before I leave?
Yes you can however please note that if you wish to connect / use the device in Australia (i.e. for testing purposes or general use), normal per day usage rates will apply.
Q: What happens if my Device is Lost or Stolen?
If your device is lost or stolen while travelling, please send an email as soon as possible to firstname.lastname@example.org, so we can de-activate it. You will need to supply us with the SIM number (printed on SIM card) and the IMEI number (printed on the package/box or on battery) of your device, so it can be identified. You may purchase a replacement device which we can send to your overseas address (international shipping costs apply) – contact us via the above email address to arrange.
Q: Can I re-activate my SIM after it has been de-activated?
You can deactivate the dataGO Roaming Hotspot after your initial 6 month commitment period has expired. Please note you cannot re-activate the same SIM after it has been deactivated. You will need to purchase a new SIM (at a nominal cost) and a new 6 month minimum commitment period will apply.

Q: What is a Fair Use Policy?
Fair Use Policy (FUP). FUP will be directed against extreme, abusive, antisocial, illegal and / or unreasonable use of a Service e.g. excessive movie/video streaming. Fair Use Policy applies: 7.5GB per month. Please view the Terms and Conditions on the website for full details.
